Our previous open submission dates were January 5, 2009-
August 28, 2009.
Ocean View Press accepts manuscripts by first-time as well as established authors. We welcome manuscripts from
anywhere in the world, however all manuscripts MUST be written in the English language.
We are currently interested in Non-Fiction, Horror/Thriller,
Sci-Fi Fantasy, New-Age, Local Flavor (New England), and Music Related.
We are generally not interested in Poetry, Genre Fiction (Romance, Teen/Young Adult),
Children's, Cookbooks or Religious material.
We only consider unpublished work. Please do not submit previously published material, including
work published in anthologies, chapbooks or online.
We prefer no simultaneous submissions. If the manuscript you sent to us has been accepted elsewhere, please
notify us at once.
If you have a manuscript and would like to send it in for consideration, please take note of the following:
Be sure to include:
- Author name and address
- Contact
number and e-mail
- Brief biography
- Indicate if this is self-submitted or an agent submission
- Manuscript
title and word count
- First 25 pages of manuscript only
- A brief
synopsis of your book (No more than 3 pages please)
- A self-addressed and postage paid envelope if you want materials
returned.
We employ a 60-day reviewing process of all manuscripts
submitted. Upon which time, provided your manuscript is selected, we will contact you with further information regarding the
acceptance of your material. (Please do not contact us during the 60-day review process.) Any material sent which does not
conform to the above written guidelines will be removed from the consideration process. If you wish to have your manuscript
returned (in the event it hasn't been selected) please include a self-addressed and stamped business envelope. Due to the
high volume of submissions and the fact that we only select a few manuscripts each submission period, we simply cannot contact
those who did not get selected by us. If you have not heard back from us after the 60-day review process, then we regret to
say that your manuscriot has not been selected. Please do not contact us asking why your work hasn't been selected for publication.
All rejections (excluding ones including a SASE) will be shredded and added to our outgoing recycle bin. We do not keep rejected
work in our posession.
