Fantasies,
the fourth album by Canadian indie-rockers Metric is a pure slice of perfection. Self-released
by the band itself, Fantasies propels the quartet into untouchable territory with such
dynamic tracks as the opener and first single "Help, I'm Alive", "Sick Muse" and "Gold Guns Girls."
Emily Haines' top-shelf vocal work is the crowning jewel on such tracks as "Satelite Mind" and "Gimme Sympathy"
while "Stadium Love" is conciderably one of the strongest songs on the album, even if it falls last on the track
listing. Fantasies is 42:00 of stellar pop-rock and just might be the band's finest album to date. (Rob Watts)
